Weekend Recap

It’s been a rainy few days, rain and wind and water all over the place. I love the rain so I was at peace at home cuddle up watching TV.

The power went out for a few and I jump up to grab my candles but then it the lights came back on.

For this weekend I plan on going to the beach on Sunday and have a good relaxing day. On Saturday it will be out back with the grill.

Chia Seed

My new found love, I soak 2 tablespoon chia seed and green tea kombucha with 17 oz pure water over night in the cooler. Then I add some lemon, ginger and 2 tablespoon coconut sugar.

Chia seed can hydrate the body, reduce blood pressure and reduce food cravings. Chia seed absorb 10 times their weight in water, forming a bulky gel and they are the richest plant source of Omega-3.

Food Tug and War

I have been trying to eat whole foods as of late it’s not 100% but I am slowing adding more and more to the list and now my body craves whole healthy foods once again.

At one point in my life I only eat fish and chicken as meat and this was good and dandy at the time. I moved from NY to live with my dad and brother in NC and then I started eating red meat because they eat meat and I was cooking it.

I love cooking because I have been cooking from a young girl and we Jamaicans love flavor, so food is a part of my life and culture.

I decided to stop playing tug and war with my food and just let it flow, I try not to eat any junk food but when I crave for something I don’t deprive myself from it. I know I want to eat only raw food at some point in my life for a full year and then decide if I should stay on that path, but I am slowly getting to that point and I am fine with it because this is what works for me at the moment.

Sound The Alarm

The chicken next door decided to sleep in my front yard at night time starting Saturday now I have no problem with that but early Saturday morning it started to sound the alarm I was like what the, Sunday morning that was it I got up went outside looking for this chicken and I could not find him only to see him up in a branch sounding his alarm I tried to shush him away but it did not work.

Monday morning I was about to blow a fuse, I went to bed early last night and I actually appreciated the 5am alarm this morning I got up did some things on the internet and then did my yoga and got the day started.

Clay Toothpaste

Everyone is going crazy over my clay toothpaste and wants me to sell it. When I am finish testing it I will look into selling it. So happy you guys love brushing your teeth with mud see I am not the only crazy one lets all be crazy and healthy together.

Did you know that fluoride is toxic and not fit for human consumption, fluoride is lightly more toxic than lead say what. Propylene glycol another one to stay away from is an active component in antifreeze and can rapidly absorb through the skin. Glycerin in toothpaste will stick to teeth and block your saliva from doing what it does best helps clear your mouth of any food particles left on the surface of the tooth.

After each meal you need to restore the pH balance in your mouth if you’re on the go rinse your mouth with water after each meal and most importantly if you’re eating lots of fruit. Himalayan salt also helps to restore the pH and alkaline balance in your mouth.

If toothpaste and fluoride was so good for us why do we have so many problems of the mouth and the need to go to the dentist so often? If all is not well in our mouth you’re off balance and you get sick easily because your immune system is down. I won’t even get into the dangers of mouth wash that’s for another day.
